I believe that there is a good market out there for this, but of course, everyone can not afford this luxury. For the masses of people, it is more economical to buy cheaper shoes that are mass produced than to have them made.

Agressively seek the market that can afford such a product. You will always have business this way. Market to them every way you can i.e, trade shows, craft shoes, internet. Also, if you havent done sol already, join and network with your local chamber of commerce members.

I am sure the more place you go, you notice how important some people value their feet by what they are wearing when you meet them.

Some occupations value a good shoe more than others. I work in financial services and I know that the rule is to "invest in good shoes". Make sure you agressively market to bankers, investment brokers and Real Estate professionals.

Maybe develop a line of shoes for a certain target market.

I know my answer was lengthy but I hope I answered your question. Good Luck

Advice 1) friends - - even i have the same problem at school and masjid. dont worry, people have become like this. you can still find good friends, i know i did. patience is the key and Dua and Salah. - forget the girls at masjid. do not hate them but hate the sin they commit. 2) Clothes - - buy some, talk to your mom with kindness and show her whatever you have and pair the clothes up. Like say, on monday i wear this (then get the pant and shirt and vest and undergarments, then bring the socks. pair these up, say to your mom this is for monday. and do this for each day and each time a new pant and shirt and undergarment to be picked. so your mom will realize you need some more clothes. remember BE KIND. do not even say 'uff'. 3) Reputation - - Follow Islam and the Sunnah for sake of Allah, pleasure of Allah only. see in the Sunnah, what is the behaviour Prophet Muhammad (saws) had when he was in public, how did He (saws) behave etc.. - Do not seek the pleasure of others but seek Allah's pleasure.

Heck yea, especially a shoe fanatic like me.
Katie Kurick had a pair made while she was in Toreno, Italy during the Olympics, I can't wait to get there so I can get some, they were cute.
Gosh a foxy pair of shoes custom made to be comfortable, I used to have a pair of Rockports where the insoles molded to your foot,(I miss them) I wore the heck outta them.
I'd definitely pay $$$ for a great pair of custom made shoes.

If you make them purely for fashion, perhaps, if you price them competitively. If you really want to make money, you need to try to work with people who make orthotic and prosthetic devices. Or diabetic foot wear would be a wonderful market to get into. If you can design shoes that are functional and beautiful for people who have special needs, you can try to become a vendor for insurance companies that pay for special shoes. You would make a fortune because insurance reimburses well for custom made shoes. You might need more training, but this is a growing need.

I would totally buy those! I'm so very very picky when I buy shoes, and I walk a lot, so they wear out very quickly, so it doesn't even matter if I buy the nicest most comfortable shoes, b/c they'll only last for a couple of months, I would like more information regarding these custom made shoes, do you have a website???

You need to understand something about the made to measure and custom clothing market. It's something that ONLY upper class and a certain segment of the upper middle class market is interested in. It's one of the things that define them from us. You can attempt to bring this to middle class america. Hell, you SHOULD bring this to middle class america....but they simply are not interested. They want their clothes like they want their food....fast, cheap and disposable.

If this is what you want for a business, then, in order to succeed, you need to target people with alot of money. That means you need to be located in the clothing district of a major city. New York, LA or Chicago are good places. You should not offer any shoes for under $1000. And you should franschise one of the fine suppliers from Milan. The way this works is you open the store and take measurements. You email them to Milan where they are handcrafted to exacting specifications and shipped to the US.
