There is this stuff called "hold it right there" you can get at bath and body that helps keep your tan longer by moisturizing and keeping you from peeling

actual, the element that comes earlier moisturizing and all that different stuff, is EXFOLIATE! in case you do not exfoliate, it will tan oftentimes your useless dermis, which sheds truly quickly, so that you gained't also be tanning. you'd be tanning your useless dermis. SO EXFOLIATEEE! And moisturize lots. you may want to exfoliate some hours or day previous to tanning. once you wash your body, in simple terms use a pouffe to bathe in round motions :)

That is called sun burned. Minimize the length of time of your exposure, apply sun block or sun screen, wear some clothes (thin fabrics).
Yes, moisturization also helps.
