It is so long since I took the SAT that the rules have changed - but I am not sure you can take it now. However, you CAN go to a community college - cheap! - and get the best grades you are capable of, and THEN apply to a good university/college. Remember, the first two years are mostly general graduation requirement courses anyhow.

A 1.5 GPA is really TERRIBLE. You weren't lazy - you weren't THERE.

At least now you know you have to do something and you have a goal. Even in community college, you can take some electives in advance of your major course of study. I strongly recommend you take broadcast TV coures and some basic photography. LEARN what makes FILM work as well as digital and tape. Also, please, please, please take some basic art classes and art history - it will so MUCH help your undertanding of light, composition and so much more!

Finally - people who go into the arts often forget it is a BUSINESS. If possible even minor in business administration. It will make your life a ton easier and more frewarding!

Exactly what some of the others have said.

Go to a community college for your basics (2 years). Not only will you have the chance to get good grades there (and save money and get your basics out of the way), but when you go to transfer to a different college (like a four-year university) then they will look at those grades instead.

Then after those two years, all you do is pick the university you want to go to, and, well, transfer, as I said above. It's very easy and what I am doing.

Get your grades up in a Community College, try to look for one that offers a TV Production program. If your grades are good enough, or you have some sample films you made, or actually both would be better. Look into Chapman university. They are one of the best schools for film and acting. Its really competitive, but not impossible. Located in Southern California, you get to learn the industry while going to school.
