DON"T listen to POOH BEAR that 1 is the most stupidest thing i ever heard!!!! If u are dumb u will do as u please. if u are smart u will listen to ure mom it sounds like she loves u and doesn't want to see her little girl in the morgue or in the hospital after u have been beaten with in an inch of u life. i know a girl that got raped by someone that meet someone from "my space" she is 14 and her mom didn't understand the danger in it. she thought it was cool that her angel could do so well on the puter. since she was so bad on it. know she wishes that she could talk to her, but she is now in a coma. hope u do the right thing.

Your mom is absolutely right, you must respect her wishes. She has your best interest in mind. Myspace is extremely dangerous for young people. There are thousands of creeps and sickos who view it as their hunting grounds. That kind of site should be left to adults.
The new "safety" procedures won't do squat. Until they find some way to make it so that a 30 year old pervert can't claim to be a 13 year old boy and set up his sight (a friend of mine 27, claims his age is 14 on myspace to keep his employer from accessing it), it's not safe.

It can be safe if it is set to private. I don't give out any of my personal info and my mom knows that. She is fine with it now. One thing she really didn't like was when my little sister had Zanga, which is like a diary. Myspace is safe if people use it right. I love Myspace! It lets me catch up with all the people I went to school with.

Myspace is not geared toward the younger set. Listen to mom. If you really want an 'online presence' there are more interesting ways to do it (like learning to make web pages).

There are a lot of predators on the internet, and if your mom doesn't want you to be on myspace it is because she is being the best mother to you that she can be and looking out for your best interests.

Listen to her. Myspace is the most stupidest site i ever been on. Shes trying to care for your safety. Stick to playing outside than sitting in front of a computer.

You could make the account private so only your friends that you accepted can view your information, but other than that, just don't do it. You should:
1) Not give out your real name [put in a nickname or something]
2)Dont put pictures of yourself
3) Dont put your address (say you live in Alaska)
4) Try not to do too many surveys

That happened to me, i told her it was safe cause it is if you use it the right way. you can have only the people you want to look at you myspace profile, no one bad or whatever can talk to you or contact you in any way accept to ask you if you'll be their friend. and you can say yes or no, so it's all good.

Show her the safest possible options on myspace. Make sure you don't give out too much personal info, and maybe it will work. It doesn't always, though. My mom made me delete mine.
