Remember, there is supposed to be SEPARATION of church and state in this country. Whether or not two people can get married in a church is not up to the state or national governments.

However, if two people can get married by a JP or judge and be declared married for tax and legal purposes, the state and national government can allow this. I think its fine for gay couples to be allowed to do this. They have the right to share their legal and financial responsibilities with each other, just like the rest of us.

Remember, its not up to us to judge if a person's lifestyle is proper or not. The point is that we all share this world regardless of whether or not someone's lifestyle is compatible with how we'd live our life. If homosexuality is a sin, then come judgement time they will be measured just as we all will. However, if you spend your life persecuting others and judging others, you too are living against the words of Jesus and will also be measured accordingly. Just live your life, help others as best you can, and leave the judgement for God.

Anyone should be able to marry anyone they want. To make it easy we should use "marriage" for religious ceremonies and "civil union" for non-religious ceremonies. Marriage and Civil Unions would have the exact same rights. Not allowing gay marriage is like when a white person couldn't marry a black person. It is discriminatory, bottom line!

I believe that they're people and deserve the same rights as anyone. I don't know why congress thinks they have the right, first to enter a woman's life and try to tell her what she can do with her child, and then drop into the lives of citizens and tell them who they can and can't like.

gay marriage should be legalized ,but only in california ,new york and florida . It doesn't bother me if the gay population want to marry ,more power to them . Yes ,in the end we are all equal and when we go to meet our maker ,let him decide if our marriages were moral or not.

I have no problem with civil unions, because everyone should be able to decide what to do with their money. But I'm undecided on gay marriage, because I'm uneasy about opening up the definition of marriage.

The fight for gay marriages was about civil ceremonies. They wished to be recognized for their commitment of their life and fortunes to each other. Those are sentiments in all marriage ceremonies.

They can be together, if they want. It is their choice. But I don't think they should be able to get married. God did create Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
