I know it's not on your list but Libertine is his best movie to date... He proved himself as a period and a classic actor in that film. It was a beautiful portrayal of the Earl of Rochester and it showed him at his most beautiful and his most real and thats why I love it. It was like Charlize Theron playing in Monster. It shows how great an actor is when they can play out of character. Johnny did it beautifully! Sir John Wilmot is a happy happy corpse!
But to answer your question (so as not to be rude) I like him as the pirate because without his influence...That part would have been a stuffy overly serious character. He is the best. He and Jared leto are the stars of this generation!
