Indeed. As a fiscal conservative, I feel that the current Republican Congress has let me down, but what's my alternative? If I vote Democrat, that puts power into the hands of people like Ted Kennedy and Nancy Pelosi, who we know can't be trusted to handle America's business. If the Democrats of today had the values of the Democrats of JFK's time, I'd be giving them a good hard look right now. But the party has drifted so far to the left that I don't dare.

The Democratic platform is dynamic, meaning it changes with the times. Priorities of 10 years ago are not priorities today, just like real life.
The 2004 platform differed from the 2000 platform, and the 2008 platform will probably be different, too.
To read the latest platform (2004) in .PDF format, check my link.
I agree. There are too many groups trying to influence people on both sides of the aisle. I am a fiscal conservative/social liberal, and neither party has given me much hope in the last few elections. Both seem to have swung to the extremes. There are a few people I'm looking at for '08, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani being 2 on the Republican side. On the Democrat's side, I'd like to see someone like Wesley Clark or Evan Bayh, but they'll probably run someone like Hillary Clinton or (I've heard rumors) Gore, giving the election to whomever the Repubs run once again.

I think to say that to say the party core represents the ideas of MoveOn.org and Cindy Sheehan is naive... I don't think the majority of Democrats feel that way... those squeaky wheels do get attention, but it's not like either of them are running presidential candidates...
It sounds like you haven't really looked for one and you're depending on Fox News to tell it to you... hahaha...
if Fox News was around in the 60s, you wouldn't think JFK had common sense or core values, because that's not what Fox News would have said about him...
someone already posted this... which is your answer... but in case you missed it the first time...

it's the stuff you won't see on Fox News...

Hey amigo no agenda. No platform
In fact the latest polls show that their may not be an actual democrat left in America.
Most likely the RNC will find someone like John Scary to pretend to be a demo for the election.

Please...the chairman of the party is Howard Dean. How could I possibly take their agenda seriously when I go to the web address listed above and the first thing I see is Howard Dean? This is the man chosen to represent the ideals and agenda?

I am a registered Democrat without a party. The Republicans have nothing to brag about either.

Hey, here's an idea....put down that drivel by Ann Coulter, turn off Fox "News", and go to http://www.democrats.org/agenda.html
Nary a mention of MoveOn or Sheehan to be found.
There's your answer,
You're welcome.
