Beach Volley ball is definitely a sport...active, competitive physical competiton with team work and drama. Requires hand eye coordination, some strength and definite endurance.

As for riding a bike...the Tour is an endurance competition...and sport is essentially physical competition. Cycling in a velodrome is obviously like sprinting with strategy...another form of physical competition.

Find out for yourself. Go to the beach and play volleyball for a few hours, then go ride a bike 10 miles.

beach volleyball is tougher than it looks on the professional level...and riding a bike through mountains is even tougher...it is physically grueling to RIDE THOUSANDS of miles...

if badminton, cricket, bobsledding, curling, rhythmic gymnastics, figure skating, and shooting qualifies as sports in the olympics...

then:
cycling is a sport.
beach volleyball is a sport.

well I know seeing them girls in them small bikini's that play beach volleyball gets my hart rate up lol
