Society percieves black women as being sexual because society sees black women and many times black people in general as just being there producing kids and being on welfare.
Years of slavery and white plantation owners taking advantage of young black girls and getting them pregnant didn't help the image which as never quite disappeared.
Movies, television, and music videos don't help either. Most music videos with black rappers show black women with hardly any clothes on. Television and movies sometimes make the women seem smarter than the man, but she is still considered in the eyes of the man, a sexual object for his use.
It would help though, if young and middle aged black women wouldn't go around dressing and acting like what they see in music videos and on TV. The media makes big money selling clothes that movie stars and girls in music videos wore. If black women didn't buy it, maybe the companies wouldn't produce it.
Society though doesn't just percieve black women as being sexual, but all women as a whole. So, all I've said above applies to all races, nationalities and cultures.
Being a black women myself, I do see what you are talking about. It is something that will take time to change and something that people will need to take a stand and say something about it in order for there to be change, in the years to come.

Its deeper than rap videos. Commercial rap has only been on the scene for 30 years or so and rap videos even less. Sisters have been the object of desire for men all across the world for thousands of years.
Its about the color, curves and flavor of our sisters. They have it all.
A simple analysis of the extremes that non-black women are going thru to aquire black features says it all. They know what men of their culture enjoy; its not a mystery.
The sad part is now some sisters are going the other route trying to hide their Afrocentric features.
Seems we're all a little confused.

I truly have no idea, but I am a woman, though not black, but can understand to an extent your plight. I also agree with the negative portraying of women in Rap music videos is also deconstructive. My personal advice is just be yourself and distance yourself from this terrible stereotype which has seeded itself in America. I hope you find the answers you are looking for, good luck!

Imus was fired so you're wrong there. The rappers' lyrics, um black people listen and buy the shyt so they are the ones supporting the utter disrespect of women and people in general. So again you are wrong. I need to see examples of the rape accusation you made because it seems to me you just pulled that one out of your as$. The black woman being known as "the Jezebel, mammy, welfare queen, loud mouth gold digger" goes back to rap music. It's the rap sub culture and the people who support it. And some of the people who support it are black women themselves. Health effects? Oh, and as far as the last one, it's called affirmative action which protects blacks as well as women. So not only does society protect blacks, they protect women as well. I would say they are the largest group that IS protected by society.

Well, regardless of what anyone says, the majority of our time on earth, voluptuous women have been what was sexy. Only a short while ago did "thin" become "in". Now we have come full circle and black and Latin women are more in than ever. Most of us have the big bootys and breasts and men instinctively love that. I have seen plenty of black, white, Latin, & asian looking at me and/or approaching me and asking me out or even for sex. I don't dress in a way to attrach attention, I just get it.

Don't worry - black women give me the weebee jeebees and I stay clear of them . I fear even answering this because I know that you will probably want me just like every black woman I meet. They desire me like crazy and I just don't understand it. Already you are probably getting hot flashes just seeing my typing here.
It all started when I was a young boy. I saw this pretty chocolate girl who I thought was a dream come true. She saw me and wanted nothing to do with me. I felt down and rejected. Then I saw a black man in the distance and he saw my dejected soul. He seemed to have some kind of power so I went over to him and he offered me a drink. The label had a wizard's hat on it and it tasted like red blood oranges with lots of carbonation. As I quenched my thirst, the wise man said "ask now for what you want , and it shall be yours" . I said " I want chocolate girls to find me irresistible" and so it has been from this day forth.
I still look for that wise man with the wizard hat drink so I can reverse this wish. It's a dangerous thing when I go to a party and all the "brothers" see me as taking their flock . Even the Muslim girls forget their religion when they see me.
I hope you are OK but I doubt it. I feel your passion before it even happens.

You answered your own question. When young black girls see what's on the TV, they think this is normal and what men want, and dress like ho's and act like tramps. When you see a big booty jiggling and boobs hanging out, that translates as overly sexual. It's not just black women, but many races.

Its not just black women. Even though it seems like the easiest scapegoat for people.
Its women period. White women have it done to them. In in a lot of ways they get exploited the worse. Look at howard stern, hugh heffner/playboy,penthouse,..
white "adult" movies... etc etc
