hi i work for the body shop at home and i can assure you that the body shop don't test any of their products or use any ingredients that have been tested on animals. Alot of companies might say there product isn't tested on animals but thats the finished product, the ingredients used to make them has. And for the person who won't trust the body shop because loreal has bought us out, do you know what your talking about they haven't tested on animals since 1990 and Anita Roddick would never have sold to a company that does, they are even planning on using community traded ingredients in some of there products.
We are the best non animal testing company and the proggi award proves that! Visit the body shop website theres information on how to host a party at home so you can receive free products

The Body Shop
Originally from the UK, formed by a wonderful woman many many years ago, she travels around the world looking for exotic ingredients to add to her products. My first beauty products were from The Body Shop when I was just experimenting with cosmetics as a little girl, and I'm now 30 and still using it!
In particular I love their hair products such as the Ice Blue Shampoo and Conditioner, it feels like your hair took a breathmint!
Since you were talking about make-up I reccomend their bronzing powders, foundation, their hues of eyeshadows and they have the best lip balms in the world!!! (Try the Kiwi lipbalm)
The company also has many wordly campaigns such as saving the rainforest and in particular stopping abuse towards women. Not only are their products great but their philosophy goes further than just making a profit! Admirable.
Take care!
Love,
Luca

None of the big cosmetic houses are cruelty free so your best bet is to buy stuff online. My favourite site is Faith In Nature. Not only do they stock make-up but also lots of other great cruelty-free products such as shampoo and shower gel.
I'd also recommend checking out the BUAV site - they list all the companies that produce cruelty-free products and these include Hard Candy, The Body Shop and Urban Decay.

Good to see that your looking into make up not tested on animals. Try products from the Body Shope and Yves Rocher UK. Also look for products that say "not tested on animals"

NOOOO! Don't trust the body shop they have sold out to L'Oreal and they are the worst for animal testing!
Try www.caringconsumer.com they have companies that do and do not test on animals.
Boots test ingredients on animals and even though the body shop doesn't test by buying their products you are still funding the cruelty!

Clinique does no animal testing. They also go so far as to make synthetic substitutes for ingredients that would be derived from animal by-products such as whey protein (derived from milk) making most of their products veegan friendly as well.

Most of their products are natural and they donate a portion of their profits to charitable causes-but they actually DO the work, not just send the money off. Lots of good info on their website.
They also have hemp products and some accessories made by villagers in Africa.
