BMW 3-Series.

Depends on your price range. You can ALWAYS get a reliable used BMW for a bargain. They are safe, sporty and dependable. If your parents are loaded, you can get a newer BMW. 3 series would be my best recommendation for a 16 year old. Anything else is too fast. Downside on Mercedes is that they're made for older people. VW's, although safe, don't quite match up to BMW's styling. Lexuses are sluggish, and if you are 16, you want something a little quicker. Land Rovers are too bulky, too much of a hassle. Also trying looking at the RSX and WRX.

if you want safest in a crash go for the volvo or the lexus, I worked an vehicle accident scene where a lexus suv tboned (drove into the side of another vehicle) a honda civic, the civic's driverside door was completely caved in the window shattered, I could not find ANY damage on the lexus to photograph so i just took pictures where the glass had fallen on the hood from the honda. if you want something that style wise is more 16 year old cool, go for the jetta or a 325i bmw convertible. land rover is going to kill on gas mileage not to mention high roll over chance in the hands of an inexperienced driver.

Get a Jetta.....it will give you the best gas milage and when you bump into a couple cars, it won't cost as much to fix. Then tell your parents to take you to Hawaii or Cancun with the money you're going to save them by not getting any of the other cars.
I put about $80 a week in gas in my car and it sux!!

Well, on your road to hell lined with your parents' money and a complete lack of road signs directing your family to the responsible way to live, you might want to choose a Volvo- I guess the sportiest model your little self can find. They make a convertible now. Probably go with a safer Volvo tho, lest you fly out the top due to your inexperience and car full of other dippy chicks.

BMW has the best crash test ratings, and probably the best performance, out of the cars you listed. They hold the road like nothing else, and hold their resale value. A BMW would be a smart choice for a first car.

Be careful driving it, though!

Lexus. Period. It's the only on that list that'll never leave you stranded in a poor neighborhood, or stuck at the house because it won't start and there's a big sale at the mall!

Get the BMW. It was made in the most beautiful country on Earth
(Bavaria, Germany). Also, if you ever thought it would be cool to pull off your helmet and shake your long hair (we guys love that) then gather your inner badass and get the bike.

Personaly, I won't get any of them. Just save that money for later. When you're sixteen, you're bound to wreck your car. Might as well save the money for a decent car later in life when you won't be as likely to crash it. Plus, have you figured how much your insurance is going to be on the car, with it being that high dollar and you just being able to drive? That itself is quite a bit of $$$!!!
