thats pretty hard to say. the womens side seems to be really unpredictable these days nobody is consistanly dominating. for example this wimbledon, venus losing in the third round and henin hardene losing even thought it seemed like she had control of most of the final.
i dont know but if i really have to go with someone. i would go with the #1, mauresmo.

My top 4 would be Amelie Mauresmo, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Kim Clijsters, and Maria Sharapova. Then the Williams' Sisters

I think the best is Henin Hardenne although she lost to Mauresuro in Wimbledom.
Besides these two, Davenport, Williams, Hingis are also good

For me, it used to be Henin-Hardenne, but now I'm going with Mauresmo.

The Williams sisters. They are both great players, I can't believe that they didn't make it to the single finals. One of the Williams sisters is in the Mixed doubles final.
