How can you tell between awkward silence's or just silence?

An awkward silence is when everyone is laughing and talking, and then all of a sudden everything goes dead silent. And they usually don't last longer than 17 seconds (yes, I time them)

If you're uncomfortable with the silence then it's an awkward moment. Some folks can't stand silence, some folks have no problem with it.

If it's awkward silence it's silence when nobody really wants it silent, like when you're first getting to know someone romantically and you have a million questions to ask but are waiting on the appropriate moment to ask them. 'Just silence' is when silence is welcomed. Like when you sit silently and watch the sunset on the water, or when you watch your newborn baby sleeping peacefully.

Emotion and situation. If your comfortable with someone, like a friend or family member silence can be nice and peaceful. If you don't know someone or you yourself feel awkward, then silence can be dying.

just silence means that people are quiet and do not make a sound. "Akward silence" means that people are embaressed or are feelikg akward to start a conversation.
