I must say that myself and my brother will be watching and we will both be pulling for France. I would like to see Zidane win before he retires.

Most of you are fairly right...although a lot more than 10 or 11 will watch the game (but only because it is the final. There will probably be a few hundred thousand, but for 98% of them, it will be the first game they watch). Anyway, personally I absolutely despise Italian soccer(football). It disgusts me. They are pretty much responsible for the trend of really defensive football. Also, they are very good at diving (I am not saying they do it all the time). Theyre wins against Ukraine and Germany were fair, hard-fought wins, and they actually scored 5 goals, so that was ok. But their games against United States and Australia were awful. I will be cheering hard for France. Do we really want a world cup champion that couldnt beat the United States with a man advantage for half the game?

I really doubt more than 10% of Americans will even be watching the match.
There are more Italian Americans than French Americans, so the majority who actually care enough to watch the game will root for Italy, I guess.

My guess is that most Americans don't give a rats behind who wins. If they were playing in my back yard I'd tell them to keep the noise down.
