The number of people responsible is much greater than the number dead, even if you include the Kurds that Saddam attacked with chemical weapons. We can even ignore the fact that Reagan and Daddy Bush were the white house couple at the time that we supplied said chemical weapons to Saddam.

We are in Iraq because we depend on foreign oil. We depend on foreign oil because we use it. If you drive a car, you are responsible. If you ride a diesel- or natural gas-fueled bus, you are less responsible but you are still responsible. I drive a car, and that is something I have been looking to change for a few years now. The problem is that the mass transit system in my area is very inconvenient to use because it is used mostly only by people who can't afford to drive a car and thus has few stops and limited routes. If more people ride buses, more buses will be made available, and mass transit will improve. If you want to help all the people from dying, organize a mass transit month or something. Let's make August national "ride, bike, or walk" month and get a few million people to avoid their cars like the plague. We can all wake up a few minutes earlier than normal to get on the bus and go through the trouble of planning routes. That won't kill us, but our unwillingness to do just that is killing many people in this world. A consumer is not powerful, but the consumer base is extremely powerful. Consumer trends rule the world.

I noticed an earlier comment that made a reference to how great it is that we're "killing all those stupid Muslims". I hope you are one of the first to get drafted, and I hope one of those "stupid Muslims" kills you before you can kill him. Good odds? We have very poor odds. There are a few hundred million of us, and a few billion of them. That's right, we're not fighting a war with Islam. We're starting a war with the world. The more we attack other countries to support blind consumerism, the more we infuriate not only those countries we attack, but those that are next in line and those that actually care about trying to establish some sort of peace in this world. Religion is a major problem in the world today. The person who said that it is good to kill muslims is probably a Christian, and probably has a vague understanding of how many wars Christianity has started through the past couple thousand years. I just hope that some day we will all realize that you can't morally justify any action based on religion, because it is imagination. I don't feel that the existence of religion is a bad thing, because some people need some explanation to justify their existence. I do, however, feel that powerful religions are a very bad thing. The more religions do to take control of their subjects' lives, the worse religion is for this world.

We all need to stop praying and start walking. Someone should come up with a statistic of how many LDC-inhabiting civilians you can save per year by getting rid of a standard 30MPG automobile and using mass transit instead.

It's not a "who" that is responsible for all of these deaths. It is a "what". And that "what" is called war. Soldiers and civilians alike are killed during wartime. Read the history books. War has been happening since the beginning of time. The death tolls are staggering. You say you pray. Then you must read the Bible. Have you not read that there will be wars and rumors of wars somewhere in there? I know I have. Look it up. We are not to judge, it also says that in the Bible. You can look that one up, too. I've always heard that you should be keeping your on back porch clean before you go pointing your finger at others. Think about that one.

I did not vote for Bush and have fought against the the same as I did vet Nam. I have no blood on my hands. I knew and yell it from the roof tops Bush is going to kill a lot of people. Bin Laden and Bush with all their advisers are the ones who can not wash the blood. When the leaders will not pay heed to the people the only choice is to get rid of those leaders. Here we have a peaceful way of doing it.

It certainly isn't Bin Laden (although he certainly has his share of deaths on his conscience, just not those in Iraq), and I don't think it was me (I'd remember that). I'm pretty sure it was George Bush. Even if this war was really the agenda of Cheney & Rumsfeld, George listened to them, and brought this about.

P.S. Um, Antonio, I can't think of ANY country that lasted over 2000 years. As for all countries that last a long time, their governments rise & fall, and ideologies shift. Name a conservative country that has lasted over 200 years (which I assume is what you meant). Certainly not the USA, for much of our history, we were the very most liberal country anywhere. We had civil rights and free election (very liberal ideas) when much of Europe was still direct or semi-constitutional monarchies. We've had conservative interludes, nothing is continuous, but really, you need to get your facts straight.

Your numbers are a little off...

You know whats beautiful about people like you. You don't think of all the deaths that Sadaam did.

If it was for people like you Hitler would of won.

My next question to you is name a liberal country with your type of thinking that has lasted over 2000 years... You know what none.

I can only pray for your thinking of the world. I am sure you are so pure and think of others. You never swear at other drivers, you go out of your way to help people, you feel that everything you do is wonderful..... Probably not.

The STUPID little groups who keep blowing things up, and making us respond to defend ourselves, and the people crying out for our help. You can quote death stats for the entire time the world has recorded history. Every facist dictator maims, and kills his people. Every one (dictator) thinks they are some sort of god that should be worshipped, and have total control. Sad isn't it. And this is just one more war that may never be solved because alot of it is over religion. People have been slaying each other by the millions over whose religion is right for all of eternity! If you look at this particular war it has been going on for thousands of years. The Middle East has been in unrest since B.C. over religion. We can work on the political aspect, but that won't stop this violence. If we stop giving them money, food, and medicine and let them shoot it out-one of two things will happen. They will either kill each other off- or stop shooting because they are hungry, and know there are no medicines to patch themselves up. Then there is a possbility they may try to establish themselves, and put thier cities back together. You know it is just a couple of small groups of terrorists causing problems. The big problem is the religious unrest. As long as they are willing to Die for thier god instead of Live and Create for him- there is a problem. Bush doesn't have anything to do with this. He is the poor sap who was in office at the time. When those idiots started blowing up stuff over here- whoever was president would have sent troops. If we didn't they would still be blowing things up (they are still trying aren't they?) Then the normal people over there asked for our help to rebuild so they could try to get control over thier lives, and thier country, and we stayed and are helping. Don't we always? We normal people struggle so hard, and work so hard for what we have that when someone is crying out for help- we help. Isn't that what we should do? Isn't that what is right? I just wish someone would say thankyou to us. They could be paying us for our help. They have oil, and other sources of income- they aren't broke. Why am I paying to rebuild thier country? They should be paying me for my assistance. We came as good samaritans. That doesn't mean we should foot the bill for everything.

All the leaders of the world trying confine it's people and control our thoughts and have us believeing that killing each other is ok.

Don't blame religion blame educated fools that spread the word because if you read the bible, the koran whatever it is i'm sure non of these killings can be justified. It's all you educated fools filling the people's heads with crap i suggest everyone just start researching for yourself dont let bush or bin laden tell you who is correct or wrong remember they have you do the dirty work not them use your brains they are still alive if bin laden is fighting oppression or whatever it is now then maybe he should blow himself up and maybe bush should send his prada wearing daughters into the war.

Bush was involved, but there are others too. It is all part ot the "New World Order" in which a certain group gains control of the politics and economy of many countries, if not the world, by any means necessary.

I believe you left someone out of the equation. Ask the Kurds of Iraq who was responsible for some of those atrocities above and they would no doubt reply "Winston Churchill", for without him there would not be an "Iraq".
Ah, the proverbial question, "Which came first, the chicken or the egg"?
History and human nature are messy things.
