I never read the book, but Ann Coulter sounds just like a lot of liberals in the brief quotations I've heard from her. Not in terms of her opinions, but in that she is a fanatic and an extremist.
So to answer that particular point, I'd have to ask how she defines what constitutes a religion. I would assume that she covers that in her book.
