Could well be lack of oxygen in the water. Ponds need either a waterfall, fountain, or bubbler to keep the water in the correct oxygen balance. Oxygenating plants are also needed.

The vet isn't of a lot help till he/she has fish adventure. i'd have the water analyzed; to work out if the mineral concentration is in good stability for fish. i'd call the community zoo, in the adventure that they have got fish. check out the college, the library, the community puppy save, in the adventure that they have got a strong aquarium section. the internet should have the ability to help with some assistance on aqua-subculture. inspite of the actuality that, i'm susceptible to imagine that the water is in favor of remediation to make it a pleased environment on your fish, and replacing the water isn't inevitably needed. keep in mind, a pond isn't any diverse that a 5 gallon aquarium, such an excellent style of of the care principals are an same.

Oxygen dissolves into the water at the surface. They are gasping for that O2. You are going to drowned your fish if you don't improve their living conditions. Try getting a filtered tank with an airstone.

Ohhh.... like most of the other people have said this is due to an oxygen deficiency in the water. To help aerate your water you can buy an aerater (At your loacal fish shop) or you can get some plants! Plants would be the best reason as they help improve the oxygen content as well as helping rid the tank of nitrates :) You can also get trickle filter which helps aerate your water (ask your aquarium supplier and they'll be able to show you one)

Looks like they might need more oxygen in the water. Try some plants or check your filter & pump.
