What I mean is, does the blood go into the penis and stay there for the duration of the erection, or does it "leak" blood back into the body? If it doesn't leak, then why doesn't it clot?

Blood flows in and around and through the penis but the chambers that cause it to get hard close off until they recieve a signal from the brain to open and allow it to go soft. Sometimes these vavles fail and that is why some men cannot get an or keep an erection. It does not clott because its not exposed to air.

If the blood flow stopped it`d fall off

Blood would be flowing 'more', during that time, if it didn't, the penis would not be able to achieve an erection.

Of course it flows - i wallk round with a stiffy 75% of the time and it would have gone black and dropped off by now if the blood didnt flow.

Yes of course it does that's what helps it get hard as well as the muscel's. If you didn't have blood running thought it the muscel's wouldn't work.
