the answer really depends on how bad you both want to be together you have to be prepared to comprimise yes it can work if you want it to ive had long relationship with my fiancee from across other side of world where woman are not in the same league as men because its their culture but we both believe in equality we speak every day on phone and on computer we visit each other alternate months now we are planning on marrying soon good luck

Yes. People from different cultures can have a normal relationship. Constant communication and reassurances of commitment are important factors. I think you should ask yourself.... where do you see yourself one year down the line...with that person? do you have things in common? Does the distance bother you? then discuss it with your "other" someone and find out if the both of you are committed to it. At the end of the day, Nothing is impossible!

The answer depends on a lot of things, like how different the two cultures are (like German v. Austria or Tutsi v. Greek), how mature the two people are, how their families feel, and how society around them feels about the combination (Jew and Arab in Israel...ouch).

Personally, I'm from the South and couldn't make a relationship work with a Californian guy (too repressed/stodgy), so for me, multi-cultural relationships are definitely off the menu. But other people can do it, I'm sure.

it only works out if people are willing to make it work. I've been relationships with someone from a different culture than mine's, but we live in border cities so the distance wasn't a problem was not a problem for us.

Of course you can't have a normal relationship- because of the distance- but you can be friends with this person by email, etc. Who knows what could happen in the future?

if by 'normal' you mean happy i'd say yes provided the partners agree on what makes them each happy. different cultures may have different standards for happiness and they may not be what works for each partner. you'd probably have to do a lot of research and study to determine if you both agree with certain cultural rules of behavior and standards for the sexes, etc. he may have been taught that beating the wife is okay (makes him happy) or she may have been taught that staying at home and keeping her face and/or hair covered is good (makes her happy).

relationship would work for ne1 no matter what country ur in as long as u stay in touch with each other as often as u can. plus 99% of the relationship's work better then most people think it would and plus they are proving their family members wrong (by saying yes the relationship does work better then ne one thinks as long as they love each other).
