Every pc I have looked at has a little switch that turns off everything going into the pc. It is usually located on the back near the main power cord. Be certain it is in the "-" position. It looks like a minus sign. The "O" position is OFF. If that is correct then try unplugging everything in the power supply unit and just plug in a light or some other thing that uses power. Power supply units can just suddenly die, mine did. It let out one long screeching beep and the pc went dead. If the psu will work one thing, try plugging your other units in one at a time to see if it kicks off. If it shuts down you will know it just can't manage all of your components.

Good luck

Did you recently add any new devices to it? If not typically it's mobo or power supply. Power supply is cheaper so start by replacing it.

Also make sure the power button is actually hitting the internal button. I sometimes take off the face cover of a computer and hit the internal button just to make sure before I start replacing crap.
