I wish I knew. My mom died of lung cancer. She was in the hospital on oxygen begging for a cig. Don't smoke it will kill you. Made my dad quit.

Generally, "peaple" do not believe that smoking can kill them. There is that little ingredient in cigarettes called nicotine, which is addictive, that might be the reason people smoke...

I doubt very seriously that anyone believes that smoking is good for them. They try it often at the coaxing of friends, it seems the "in" thing to do.
After a while they acquire the habit which, like all dope, is very hard to quit. Some are strong, and can dump the habit, others are too weak.

I used to enjoy smoking. When I stopped enjoying it I tried to quit and was successful.
People are inundated with warnings about how so many things are bad for them that they just shrug and continue.
As a society we tend to think that we will either die or be saved by the advances in science.

Many people think - rightly or wrongly - that smoking is good for their *image*... The reason to start is usually vanity. But the reason they don't quit is usually addiction. In both cases, the reason is dependence. In the first case, they are dependent upon the opinion of others; in the second, dependent upon the substance itself.

its not like it gonna kill you that soon. it could but you have a better chance of dieing in a car wreck today. why do people show tons of fat into their body that can kill you just the same.

Yeah. It's like, if you take one puff then the next thing your addicted to it. Smoking is so bad for you. I will never smoke in my life.

They don't thinks it's good for them they think it's cool mostly pear pressure if you have tried one then you know it's awful and ittakes a real commitment to keep smoking. and I think it usually takes at least a week and a half to actually kill someone... lol

How can any one take a bomb and starp it around there neck knowing that it can go off at any time but since they cant see the timer there screwed.
If if the bomb makes you feel good and make you look cool its still a bomb! why are wearing a bomb around a necks and not caring at all.

Guess the air pollution from rich corporations has nothing to do with those scientific studies...just smoking in general...i'm not so easily convinced!
