Well most aquatic turtles should be fed underwater it helps them digest the food much Quicker only one promblem if its fruit it will shrimble up and absorb the water and wont taste good for your turtle if its directed food tablets ect i whould place some on the rock cause if it drops it in the water and goes for it asnd eats a peble bye bye turtle it will suficate and die whice no one wants unless your a lunatic trying to sufficate it most people believe you should feed turtles under water cause most of them are used to be under water if its a land turtle only on rocks it matters what you feel like doing trust your heart and you will be correct

I put my turtles food on a log floating in the water and it takes it underwater to eat it

No I feed mine out of the water on his rock...It seems to work very well that way. If you use pellets then you may want to feed those in the water because I'm not sure if they will readily eat them out of water...

place any food on the surface water. they are most comfortable eating underwater. try chicken scraps, meat scraps(raw),fish, worms, creek snails and some veggies or water plants from a pet store. mine devour almost everything and i've had them for 5 years.get a book and study up.

You should, most aquatic turtles need to be under water to swallow. only problem is it makes the water crud up quicker.
