I guess there are some nice atheists out there but in 54 years I have yet to meet one that didn't seem like a self important arrogant a$$. To elevate yourself to a position where you are SURE that you have the omnipotence to declare that you KNOW the UNKNOWABLE - that there is no possibility of the existence of a "Force" that the human brain cannot even begin to comprehend - is so ignorant and arrogant that it is beyond ridiculous. It's not hatred, it's disdain for arrogance.

Everyone believes they are persecuted based on something about them. I.E. Their height, weight, job, religion, ethnicity... etc. It is a broad generalization to believe that everyone hates atheists or that atheists are the "smartest, nicest people" because religion does not make someone more intelligent or nicer. It's an individual thing, not a group generalization. Just believe what you believe, let others do the same, and everybody should be okay.

We are the looming doubt of the faithful.
We are not simply representative, we effect their reality.
As they effect ours.
It's total war.
I said it before: Influence is prescient.
The iconoclasts burned the libraries to change the future.
And the voice of God has to SCREAM to hear itself today.
I can't respect any form of it, when it preaches against
the viable alternatives to our very immanent world.
Religious dogma is dangerous and is as infectious and propagandic as any other material source of domination (for the most part it serves the same). We can't just sit back, idle, respecting these 2,000 yr old moralities and inconsequential metaphysics. God does not live here. This is our world, us humans.
The call to peace and love is a passive-aggressive nihilism begging to be dominated.

Well, I like you okay, based on this. But, I too am an atheist. So, perhaps the question ought to be, why do mystics hate non-mystics? To which I answer, faith & force are allies; usually they can suppress their desires to throw us out of the country (as some of my friends once proposed of non-believers), and sometimes they will resort to cutting your head off if you won't submit.

Atheists are simply interpreting an opposite viewpoint as hatred. They dont really know what they believe so they believe in nothing. If someone says "that's ignorance" then tells them of a better way it forces them to deal with the potential that they may be wrong.

Oh how nice to hear the sweet voice of reason.
If there is a God why are so many of his followers so nasty, so judgemental and holier than thou?
It is a bit disappointing that when they die that will be it - just nothing. How exquisite if they could knoq just for a minute that there was no afterlife ans they could have partied an had that drink or two!!!!!

Because this country is ruled by religion. where if u dont have a religion, ur considered gone wrong by the devil. besides that, there is a feuding war for which religion has the most followers. Since ur unclaimed...well....u should be claimed in their opinions

I am agnostic so I have a clear view of this battle. Some religious people are arrogant hypocrites but all atheists are arrogant hypocrites.
