Tell them that there is something they need to know that only a real friend will tell them. Then say, "I'm sorry to have to tell you that you have bad body odor." Offer to get them some shower gel and a good deodorant like Mitchums or Certain Dri. You really are a good friend to be willing to do this.

just offer then the time to freshen up, before you go out or spend time together. This may give then a hint and they may ask a question that will open the door for you to say the truth... just remember to be kind.

Hahaha! Really, just tell them. Ask if they forgot to use deoderant today. I live in Germany and they have an aversion to deoderant. I have to use this line alot, but they all get the hint!

I would as gift buy a basket with fun soaps, shampoo, mouth wash etc. if that doesn't help, I would pull that person aside in order not to embarress her/him. and talk about your favorite hygine product, ask what do they use and continue the conversation from there. if you really care about the person you want to help them.

"you smell rank, dude. i'm sorry but use this." handing them deorderant and spary a perfume. there is no way to say "you smell bad" than just putting it out there. just sound sympathetic.

hmm,
If it is your friend just tell them. I mean don't be as blunt to say "you smell like ****"... Or you could say it jokingly. Or be like "what is that smell!?" but don't point any fingers.

Just cover your nose a few times and blow into your hands and that will give them a clue trust me i have tried it.

girl-give them body spray as a "gift" then nicely say you're concerned about hygiene.
boy-same thing minus the body spray, cologne instead
