Kahn is playing mainly as a "thank you" from the Coach, Klinsmann. Its likely to be Kahn's last ever game for Germany because he will retire next year..
As for Figo, he is rumoured to have had an argument with Scolari, the Portugal coach, so Scolari may be punishing him.

Kahn has been the back-up goalie the entire season and Lehman said he has been a really great sport all the way. There was afeud going on between the two of them for a while and Lehman said he has shown such great attitude this whole time that he wants to let Kahn have this game if he wanted it. Especially after what happened in the Worldcup 2002, he really needed the to boost his self esteem.

because figo has a minor injury and this is the last match so i guess they thought it would be fair to let kahn play since hes been the number 1 goalie for so long.

kahn was the captain in 2002, and golden ball winner
to me, he's probably the best goal keeper in the world
but lehman is not so bad
