anyone know how i can contact gc services located in texas?

GC Services is a collection agency who are billing me for $12, yes a measely $12 for Marie Claire magazines that I never even RECIEVED. I know 12 dollars isn't much, I can pay it, but why should I pay it if I didn't recieve anything? Another thing, i'm not 18 yet, I will be in a few wks. Im worried it might affect my credit or something, I can't get a hold of the agency by phone and they don't have a website or anything so how can I dispute this debt? I need to get a hold of them.

Since you aren't getting any response to your inquiries, it sounds like you might be a victim of a scam. Magazine sales often are a ruse for this kind of consumer fraud. What to do?

You might try contacting your local Consumer Credit Counseling office. They might be able to help resolve this issue. Or maybe the Better Business Bureau in your town might be able to help.

Be sure to put everything related to this matter in writing--and, if you are sending a letter, keep a copy so that you have a record. If you call this business, and actually get to talk with a person, be sure to write down the name of the person you talked with and get their title. Write down what they say--or put them on a speaker phone and have a friend write down what they tell you --so you will have a record.

I know that you said you have the $12--and that it is not a lot of money to you--but if indeed this is a scam of some sort, you will be helping a lot of other people--many not as fortunate as you are--by taking this on and documenting.

Hopefully, this is a situation of a bad address or a communication problem, however, If it indeed turns out to be a matter of consumer fraud, don't hesitate to contact your state attorney general's office-- the consumer affairs division. They can get things taken care of so that other people won't suffer from scams in your state. Consumers like you do have rights. Good luck!
