Many blacks I meet always seem to think someone else or the government owes them something. What is the deal with this?

I am FAR from being Racist; but in some instances, I do think a few African-Americans are playing the "Race" card a little too often in order to avoid taking responsibility for thier own actions.

Please do NOT think for one minute that I am implying that ALL African-Americans are committing crimes & whatnot, because I am NOT. Nor am I saying that they are wrong in SOME of these instances. I know that as long as there are People of ANY Race, there will ALWAYS be Racism.

But I DO think that a few of these people are using thier "History" as an excuse to get away with doing things that they KNOW are stupid, no matter WHAT colour you are. Just because your people were horriblly mistreated once opon a time does NOT mean that you automatically deserve a free ride for committing an act that you know is WRONG 40 years AFTER your Historical Liberation. the Act was called the EQUAL Rights Movement, NOT the EXTRA Rights Movement.

You are an AMERICAN just like the rest of us now, which means if you make a mistake, African-American OR Caucasian-American, it is YOUR responsibility to accept the consequences for your actions.

Some blacks, not all are looking for recognition and compensation, mainly recognition of the unjust treatment of blacks- especially since government viewed blacks as cattle, or something less than human. The truth of the world is that nobody owes anyone a thing and won't give you anything unless you go for it, or work hard for it. There's no such thing as hand-outs well coming form the gov't. The gov't controls who gets what, and makes sure the ''haves" continue to have and the ''have nots" continue not to have. So I'm black and I don't think gov't owes me a damn thing but I should have the opportunity to get something if I want it.

I am a black African American and i don't think like that. You have to learn that all blacks are not that way, because i personally believe that if you want something in life you have to work and earn it because no matter if you think that people always owe you 9 times outta 10 u want get it. That's why i am staying in school and planning on going to college. But like I said not all blacks are like that.

We do? Man I never knew that we were you tell me what the deal with that. I been black for a long time and never heard of this but from Muslims. As being black the one thing I do know it that all blacks know that things won't be handed to them. In fact most if not all blacks are taught to never expect no one to care about or have pity on you. Like in the Movie Ray his mom told him I will show you once and left him because no one will have pity on you because your blind. If anything we a taught that people will steal, lie, cheat and try and get over on you. Most blacks treat their kids bad because they want them to know that in the real world people will not care nothing about you.
