Hell no. As long as the politicians worry about themselves and not the American public, we will always have outrageous prices. It's time that the government stop worrying about other countries and look in their own backyard where they were elected to help. It is obvious that they don't care about us, the hard working individual who works pay check to pay check. Part of the reason the economy is so poor is because jobs are being shifted to foreign countries. Time to start putting the jobs back to the good ol' U S of A.

In the physical universe, every instance is unique. Nothing will ever be like it was before.
We live in a state of flux. The same is true for the economy, which is a human invention. If you look upon the economy like a thing in itself, something that masters you, then all you will do is lament it.
But if you look on the economy as something all of us invented and that we agree upon, then a whole new way of relating to it becomes possible.
-- Frustrated by high gas prices? Work or invest in creating electric vehicles, alternative power sources. Open up Space to build solar power plants + an infrastructure on Earth to distribute its energy.
--- The economy generates problems that we solve for the benefit of our family, friends, associates, state, nation and the world.
-- Solving these problems lead to personal enrichment. The higher up the problem, the bigger the enrichment.
-- The 2nd biggest question in life after 'why am I here' is 'what the heck am I going to do with my life'. The economy gives you an abundance of things to spend your life doing.
Are you fearful of global warming? So is the world. There is now a market for any technology that can ease or reverse it.
Are you worried about overpopulation? All the more reason to start opening up space for mankind. Or choose one of the many challenges to spend the rest of your life overcoming in a very fulfilling way.

Nope - not as long as the Republicans are in power. Even then, prices will never be as low as they were. They might go lower than they are now, but we'll never see gas for $1.50 a gallon again. I can remember paying 25 cents a gallon for gas and a dollar's worth would last you all week. Then we get upset when gas went to 50 cents a gallon! Now we call 2 bucks a gallon cheap!! We'll never see it that "cheap" again. Disgusting!!!!

If the UN would go from country to country helping to get the people established so they can support themselves then we could settle down to the real problems. Every country has some sort of product (manufactored or food stuffs) that they can trade for the things they need. We could get back on track, and get the planet cleaned up, and get rid of disease. Instead we go into non-sufficient countries, and GIVE them food, clothing, medicine, and money. Then they are dependant, and still can't get it together to help themselves. If the other countries we have bailed out paid us back we wouldn't be in debt! I think that everyone needs to work together, and stop pointing the finger saying that each other isn't helping enough (France). I already have a family to support! Maybe when our kids graduate high school they should do a year or two in a service the UN could create that would do this "clean up". BUT it's not up to the Americans to do it all. Everyone needs to participate. If we could get half- just half- the world on it's feet we could be working on a cure for cancer, diabetes, AIDS- and we could have solar energy, and our corn oil thing going in no time. That would stop us from doing any more "oil" damage to the planet! Unfortunately we have terrorists in charge of half the countries (dictators are terrorists too North Korea, Cuba, Africa, Middle East), and the people are just trying to find food and shelter. They could get these BAD GUYS out of thier countries by jailing them- or maybe just killing them off- themselves if we helped them get on thier feet. That would solve EVERYONES economy problems.

No and why would you want it to be? I am making more money now that ever. Everything is relative. (our gas is under $3, by the way) There is a lot of positive change happening in the world and right now we are feeling the pain of change. We have a lot to look forward to;)

probably not. back in the day you could buy a meal for 25 cents and it has never gone back to that. prices keep inflating and its just unfortunately something we need to learn to accept. i guess the companies like being able to be like "omfg look we have 4357839045 trillion dollars" even if in reality its only like having say 40 billion 30 years ago
