I know a couple, friends of mine, who have overcome a pretty serious problem, and they are happy together now for 8 years past the problem. The wife had cheated, in a one night stand, and then confessed to her husband. It created a gulf between them. He was not able to sleep with her for three years. She totally owned up to it, gave no excuses or justifications, apologized for being hurtful, weak, and insincere. AND they were in marriage counseling for about two years.

Break up , to make up. There is a REASON why couples
divorce. And the divorce rate amoung second go-arounds
is way up there. They usually only last a couple of years.
Usually for the same reason they divorced in the first place.

the hardest thing to overcome was trust.my partner and me ...we both cheated. but we didnot want a divorce. we wanted a fresh start. i needed to trust him. and in time i did. he wanted to see if i really loved him. in time he saw that i did. we never had counselling. my hubby always said that "we dont need a stranger to solve our problems", so we never went councelling. we tried to fix our marriage slowly, day to day.and now, by the grace of god, we found the love we lost for 8 years.
