I was watching a show in which the host described the abortion question like this: Abortion is a question of the lesser of two evils, do you condone rape (you are essentially taking control of the woman's uterus without her permission) even to prevent murder? Which of course can be turned around: How do you condone murder, even to prevent rape? After listening to the question, that is how I now see it, rape or murder? How do others see it now that it has been portrayed like that. I must admit based on the question I feel guilty about it but I must take rape over murder, I am against abortion.

When I said you are taking control of a woman's uterus without her permission, I meant that you are preventing her from deciding what is right for her own body, forcing her to do something she feels may be the wrong path, not cases in which the woman is raped and gets pregnant from it.

Deciding not to carry a pregnancy to term is 100% the individuals' personal and private chioce. I see it no different than deciding to get a tatoo, pierced naval, pieced ears, capped teeth, breast augmentation, liposuction, mole and wart removal, tubal ligation, face lift, homosexuality, and on and on.

The issue is whether it is murder.

Let's remove the more complicated part of the question. Let's say that a fetus, post-viability, cannot be aborted. Almost every state has this prohibition already, and the courts have said this is perfectly legal. The only time this becomes a question is where carrying the child to term, or attempting to remove it and have it finish growing in an incubator, would cause the mother's death. And the exception to prevent the mother's death is effectively a self-defense argument. So, not real issues there.

That limits the question to pre-viability, when it's just an embryo and incapable of surviving independently.

Now, lots of people claim that human life begins at conception. And for most of them, that belief is based on their religious views. Why? Because it's not based in medical science. An embryo just a few weeks old is a collection of cells, less developed than a sponge. I'm not talking about what it might grow to become six or ten months later. I'm talking about what it is at that point in its development.

So, the people who oppose abortion on religious grounds do so because they believe that even a potential human life is fully deserving of all protections, regardless of what the costs are to the mother. That's your rape versus murder argument.

But what about those people who don't believe the embryo is a human yet? That's the position that the vast majority of medical science takes. To those people, it's not murder, because it's not a yet a human being. It's just a collection of cells with potential. Remember, we're only talking about pre-viability, when the embryo cannot survive on its own.

So, the question is -- is it murder? And that's either going to be a personal question decided by each individual, or it's going to be decided by the government. And since it can't be decided on scientific grounds, the only way the decision is going to be made by the government is on religious grounds.

Which means, in effect, you have the majority religion imposing its beliefs on everyone as a matter of law. It's not just rape. Because it's not even murder.

The issue isn't about whether abortion is bad or not. The pro-choice movement has never ever said that abortion is good, and every pro-choice advocate I know is personally opposed to abortion. But that's not the issue.

The issue is who gets to decide -- the individual or the government. And I don't think the government has that right.

I am not against abortion, I had to say that first. It decides whether some people will read this.

There's no right answer for this question. You're right, it's rape or murder. It's not just making a poor choice. Sometimes it's not a choice at all.

Situation: A young teenager is raped, and she gets pregnant. Is she allowed to have an abortion, since chances are the birth will kill her?

Again, there is no answer. It's a personal preference.

My answer is simple. Everything in the world happens for a reason. We may not see the full picture but God does. I know that abortion is Wrong. No matter the circumstance. Yeah I know that it is sad if rape happens to someone. But how many kids would have not been here if your mom decided to have an abortion? If your reading this right now then your alive because Your mother decided to let you live. Why do you think it is your right to let someone live or die? It isn't that is why murder is illegal. I don't speak for everyone but I am glad my mother didn't abort me.

Some just rape and murder you. Only in cases like these can you make abortion okay because it's not your fault. When your stupid enough to f*ck your boyfriend without protection. Deal with it. A child should not die for your lack of common sense.

I think that, while everyone is entitled to their own opinion, that it still all comes back to the whole "My body, My choice." thing. I would never want someone telling me that I had to carry a baby to term that would remind me everyday of such massive personal, emotional, and physical hatred. I think that abortion is an issue best left up to those who consider it. Other than that I will fight untill the day I die to prevent someone from telling me what I can and can not do with my body.

Your first question should be "is abortion murder". The answer is no, therefore the question you pose is solved. The next question should be if being pro life is a sin. The answer is -yes it is a sin. You should then try to see and understand the truth about abortion.

You can then focus on the problems of rape in our society and on real murder.

Abortion was invented by God for good purposes. God practices abortion every day in the form of miscarriage. God knows when a child will suffer. At least my God knows. And you should follow my God and not the god of the pro life anti Christ movement. The god of the pro life movement kills children, fetuses, and doctors, he bombs clinics and harasses women. My God allows women to pray to him and ask for his advice on abortion. My God knows that when a child will suffer, he can either allow that to happen or allow abortion, or change nature in another way. God uses all of these options. It is the anti Christ or god of the pro life movement that wants to take the option of abortion away from women.
My God holds the power of life and death in his hand. He can take the soul of the fetus and protect it. For example if you pray to God and he says that abortion is right then when you have your abortion, God makes certain that there is no death of a human soul. Only a fool would believe that man can take a soul that God does not want to die.
The pro life movement is using deceit to take away the right to free will and abortion that God has given to all people in the world. If you use the search option above and search for abortion you will see my quotes from the Bible that prove the pro life movement will suffer for their deceit about Gods view of abortion.

Abortion is Very Wrong. The Baby is Innocent.
The Baby could grow up and be the Best Friend you could ever have.

I feel that abortions are up to the person themselves. It is a matter of opinion as to when "life" begins and your opinion should not restrict other people's action because it is...just an opinion. There is no black and white to it.

I think we should give a chance for baby to be born. Human and animals alike.. nature have a way to control them (especially for animals). I don't have a pet atm, but there are a bunch of stray cats in my complex that help to control the rat population (and lizard, they sometimes eat them).
