Try tracking powder it's what many pros use, it is a poison in powder form used on rodents as all lick their paws. Place it outside it's holes so it will have to walk across it. I assume it is allowed where you are.

They sell traps but they don't work in a lot of cases. You put the trap in the hole but if you have sandy or soft soil, the gopher is always digging a new tunnel. Poison is available too, but could be far worse than the gopher.

I have one untested idea. You can rent a pencil vibrator at a rental yard. They're used to jiggle concrete. It's a powerful vibrator, about 2 inches in diameter and a foot long at the end of maybe a 6 foot cable. Stick that thing in the ground and I'm sure the gopher would get nervous. It will get hot so you can't leave it on too long. If you could have about 4 of those, with timers it would be ideal.

If you could bury and light biggish firecrackers every few minutes I'll bet gophers would leave too.

This is starting to sound like the old lady who swallowed a fly.

You can get plastic flowers from Lowe's or Home Depot. They look like giant daisies and when the win blows, the plastic petals spin and vibrate the ground which scares the gophers away.

You can also get traps, which had already been recommended.

If you get a gun, a .22cal rifle is the way to go.

Growing up my dad used smoke bombs. I'm not sure where you get them but you could look on line. The instructions were easy and it always worked. I wanted him to use humane traps and release them in a distant field but...
Good luck!!

P.S. Don't corner the little suckers, they can be very viscous. If they start chattering at you...RUN!!!
