My teen son & daughter both had some minor pimple problems, similar to what you describe. At their regular check-up, I asked their doc what we could do about this, and she prescribed Duac Topical Gel. It contains 1% Clindamycin and 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. It worked great on both of them--within days.

It does dry the skin out a bit, but my daughter only used it once per day, whereas my son used it in the morning & before bedtime.

You might want to check this out with your own doctor. It's available by prescription only.

With dry skin, avoid both soap and the heavy-duty cleansing creams available. You may have problems with exfoliants as well. A gel cleanser from Nivea or maybe Cetaphil should work. Noxzema and mild ten-o-six lotion from Bonne Belle help. If you must cover them up, only use a light coat of foundation and a little powder. Do not use heavy concealer or pancake makeup. Fresh air and sunshine helps. Sometimes makeup is also a problem so be careful what you use. There is a very good line from L'oreal called Pure Zone that is milder than most acne products and is designed as a line of skin care. Stay away from anything with heavy oils but you might want to use an oil-free AHA cream like one from St. Ive's or Kiss My Face Peaches'n'Cream. Or else, a light Nivea moisturizer. Drink lots of water and avoid most junk in diet.

I had this on my forehead for some time and it was quite annoying. My hair is sufficiently long that I was able to hide it from view. You can try some of the following:

# Wash your face twice a day with a mild cleanser. Make sure you wash your skin whenever it becomes sweaty. Do not scrub your face as this will only make your acne worse.

# Avoid hairstyles in which the hair is constantly touching your face. Shampoo your hair regularly.

# Do not squeeze or pick at the pimples. This makes them worse and may cause scarring.

# Avoid exposing your skin to too much cold, heat and sunlight. Sunlight may improve your acne for a while, but it won't cure it. Too much exposure to sunlight can lead to burning and skin cancer.

# Use a water-based moisturiser. Greasy or oily creams and foundations block the pores and may cause pimples.

# No scientific research has shown that certain foods can cause acne, but if you notice that spots increase after you eat certain things, it makes sense to avoid them.

# Choose a sensible, varied diet, drink lots of water and exercise regularly. If you feel good, your skin will feel good too

# Consult a beautician about how your skin should be cared for.

# Mild acne can be treated with over-the-counter medications. Ask your pharmacist for advice on products. Try them for six to eight weeks to find out if they are working - it takes time to get acne under control.

No! Don't burst it! That's the worst thing you can do! It may solve your problem temporarily so you won't go to that dinner with a large white bud blossoming on your mug, but the scar will remain for a long, long time. Instead, try wrapping an ice cube in a thin muslin cloth and place it for about three minutes on a pimple that is just forming. It kills the growth of the pimple. Believe it, it is true.

If a pimple does burst accidentally (or intentionally!), wash the area with soap. Then reach for a lemon slice and squeeze ten drops into a cotton ball. Keep it on the burst pimple for about 10 minutes. The scar will vanish.

Good luck babe xx

Well, this is going to sound weird, but toothepaste really helps. Before you go to bed, apply it on top of your outbreak, and wash your face in the morning. They'll be gone within the week.
