I am not refering to HC straight-edge, but hardcore as in brutal, violent, insane, etc.

None of the answers I saw were even close to what you're describing as "hardcore". I think the better genre analogy would be Grindcore or Death Metal.
In that genre, there are several standouts: Deicide, Napalm Death, Dying Fetus, Pungent Stench, Behemoth, Gorguts, Cannibal Corpse and Sepultura to name just a few.

a band called "The Disappoinments"
they are so 'hard core' they refuse to perform or even practice...
every member of the band is a lead guitar player because no one will compromise their artistic integrity by playing anything "less"
They refuse to record because they see it as a "sell out"
They won't do interviews because they see that as allowing "The Man" to co-opt them just to sell magazines...
They have no manager because they won't bow down to authority of any sort....
They have no groupies because they don't want to be cast as "Sexual objects" for cloying fans
They are SO HARD CORE that they won't move out of their mother's basement even though they are alll in their late thirties...
