What can we do to get world wide focus on the fundamental needs of society and shed special interests waste?

There are WANTS &. NEEDS in all society. If we focus on the NEEDS and shed the WANTS or special interests or (Pork), we would be able to start producing results and progress throughout the planet. Have a positive effect on ALL of society and not just certain portions or specific areas. Special interest projects take away from society and causes dreaded financial results in the majority of cases, whereas, if we focus on fundamentals and put constraints on wasteful and abusive special interest projects, cut the public funding for special interests, we can then turn those funds into supporting the fundamentals of societies and even rid a large portion of fraud that often occurs in the special interest arena. If you mean the United States I say cut the size of the government by half. Let people deal with education etc on a local level, kick out or ignore all the fringe lobbyist's,elect people who really care about America. Keep cutting taxes so we can as individuals deal with poverty at a local level. I would gladly give a hand up rather than a hand out, if I had extra money to help. I know this sounds simplistic but what has a government maze of bureaucracy gotten us?

I don't understand why there is any socialism in this country at all. The government gives money to projects that benefit them, not those that really have the most need. The government needs to stop giving money away to EVERYONE and do the work they are supposed to unedr the constituation as a DEMOCRACY.

I am not a heartless person, if I had less taken out of my earnings for taxes, I would be glad to donate morte money to charitable organisations and places that I feel need the money. I donate now, but near as much as I WOULD or COULD if given the opportunity.

Another part of the problem, as I see it, many of the "pork" projects are ones that are neccessary to keep the economy on some depresseds areas going and keep politicians in office.
Men don't need the studies, they are the idiots in the public offices giving the money away.

Praying always helps. The public must step forward and become more involved in the election process by finding out who is being put into elected positions and why they are put in those elected positions. Has your congressperson or senator asked anyone in your town about anything that's happening with the War in Iraq or Darfur or Israel? No, not mine either. It begins from Town/city government and up. If WE THE PEOPLE don't let them know what we want, how we feel, what we are thinking then they will do whatever they believe best. They are not asking for our input, we are not giving out input so they are speaking for themselves and for the special interest groups who can get them re-elected. It's up to the people. WE THE PEOPLE ... it has always been the people. Spread the word and get everyone involved in making our elected officials accountable for what they say, do, vote for, and who they take money from.

This can be done, only if we have a technology that can make the people of the world think alike, striving for the common good, working for the same goals, like what the Borg uses. If we have that, it can work! Or better yet, if we have the power to make the greedy politicians listen to our important pleas, then we shall all progress. A one world government may do the trick.

If it was possible for mankind to achieve this don't you think it would have been done by now? Throughout the ages there have been people who wanted to achieve such things yet have they?
