Decrease caloric intake, and increase caloric output to reduce fat stores. While doing this you must prevent muscle loss by consuming adequate protein and performing resistance exercises. Try drinking water every time you think about how you are not in as good a shape as you wish you were. This will help you to feel full, while at the same time providing a way for your body to burn calories. H2O is 66% oxygen, and like helping a campfire to burn by fanning it, you will help your internal campfire burn.
Water + exercise + lean protein - calories = 6 pack abs.
Finally, it is not about what you put into your body, it is about what you don't put into your body. Read labels when grocery shopping. You will see that the majority of things you find at the grocery store are appealing to your body's search for easy calories, and are loaded with some combination of fats and sugars.

hundreds of crunches/sit-ups a day. eat a lot of portein, but nothing too fatty. and cut down on your dairy, at least don't buy anything that is whole, and try adding water into your milk when you pour a glass, but not too much or else it'll taste like watered down milk, and if you don't put a whloe lot it'll still taste like milk.
