Memnoch the Devil is by far my favorite book. My son had just died quite suddenly and I had been given all the "feel good" holy books you can imagine. I belonged to a book club and in the mail they sent this book by Anne Rice. This will sound weird, but it actually helped me cope with my son's death. It gave me peace. I later learned that she too lost a child and I guess she knew what I needed to read.

yes her debut novel Interview with the Vampire has surging creative force and there is pathos that touches on the eternal death life without end humanity and what it is, not a Greek tragedy, but the elements are present. it does not overreach, yet her novel succeeds. it is Worthy as literature. Later novels i was much less enamored. yet most literature prof. will not acknowledge Stephan King's genius for the mere fact of imaginative creation, without striving /attempting more. One must acknowledge the gift to create alone as worthy. not as complete but to be not disregarded. yes I like Anne Rice.

I wrote my senior thesis paper on The Vampire Chronicles. It was titled "Even the Damned Can Learn: The Moral Transformation of the Vampire Lestat." Memnoch the Devil is my favorite. I just read Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt, which is very good.

Anne Rice is one of the greatest authors of the modern times, in my opinion. One can appreciate her use of imagery and sensuality...you almost yearn to be a vampire! Besides the Vampire Chronicles, my favourite novel of hers is Violin.

it truly is a shame human beings do not study the object before answering. Rice is adverse to many of the perspectives of prepared Christian communities that she feels are not from now on Christlike. She stated at one element that she is a follower of Christ, yet no longer a follower of Christ's followers. better skill to her.

I like her. My fave book is probably Blackwood Farm. I like her stories though, it's just too bad she's not writing anymore vampire ones.
