I am gonna have my 3rd and final surgery on my patella(knee) and you think my family has paid a penny? The bills was an estimated $ 12,000 for all 3 operations. I attend public schooling and of course since my parents "reported" annual income is below the level, we dont pay a dime in taxes! Our property tax is minimal! and we live in a high class white/asian area. Thank you my Americans for letting me ride your system. I am not "illegal", if i was my parents would not be getting any subsidies and welfare checks.!

i am wondering, can i apply for student welfare? if so how? i want some dough to pay for my gf's wants and needs

Keep in mind that Welfare is a FEDERAL program. It has a lifetime limit of 5 years. NO extensions are allowed. The children will receive benefits until around age 18. Also, it's mandatory that the adult(s) in the home participate in a Welfare to Work program, aka W2W. 35 hours are mandatory for a 2 parent household. Same goes for Foodstamps. Medi-Cal, Medicaide is only available to parents with dependant child(ren). Medicare is available to the disabled & people who's income falls below the poverty line

Think you can get around the system? You might. You'll get caught eventually & ALL of the monies paid out by the Welfare system will have to be paid back. They will attach wages. If there's money being made "under the table", you can be forced to pay taxes by the IRS. Tax evasion will land you in jail for a minium of 5 years. Tax evasion is a FEDERAL offense & carriers stiffer fines & jail times. Time served will NOT be in a normal facility but in a FEDERAL facility. Those are usually in different parts of the person's state, 1-2 hours or further away.

So what is your question? If you are to blame for benefiting from your parents' deception? If you are under 18 and living at home, I would say that you are not responsible, as long as you plan to live differently once you're on your own. Be forewarned, you're inviting a lot of criticism and ignorant comments by discussing that here.
