They were really good. Freddie's voice was so beautiful. They were very talented, but some of their stuff from the early 80s I don't like so much, like the album The Game. I think they got lazy and stopped trying. I think their early and late stuff was the best. My personal favourite albums are A Night at the Opera and Innuendo. I think they were a very gifted band and composed some real masterpieces, but I think they did do a few duff songs as well, probably because of laziness, like I just said.
Their music is still enjoyable today. I think it is good to listen to oldies at the same time as listening to current music.
I think Freddie's voice is one of the most beautiful voices I ever heard. It is unique and has a lovely, soothing quality. He had an amazing range. I love to listen to him singing ballads which I think brought out the best in his voice. Has anyone heard his talking voice? It was absolutely gorgeous. I wish I could sit and listen to him read a book or something, anything, even the phone book would sound gorgeous. And he was gorgeous, he had such beautiful eyes... mmm...
(I once had a housemate who looked a bit like Freddie. I was very lucky. He didn't like it at all when we said so though, ha ha!)
Not sure about new Queen though. I can't really imagine Queen without Freddie.

With Bohemian rhapsody they changed music. Its on a par with Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band, and the beginning of rock and roll. Queen created change its not very easy to do.

They rock. One of the great rock bands ever, they combined elements of hard rock, glam, and classic rock with an ironic viewpoints and fantastic artistic sensibilities.
Brian May is universally acknowledged a great guitarist, and Freddie Mercury had one of the singular voices ever. Emotional, massively ranged, and instantly recognizable.
It was a horrible blow to music when he passed away.

when queen were in fashion i was a very big fan but now listening to the music i find it very dated Freddy Mercury was a very good songwriter but that type of music belongs in the 1970s and 80s .Some music is timeless but Queen belong in the land of the dinosaurs. This is only my opinion.
