to hard mod for halo 2 you need to buy a chip and with that you can't go on xbox live. You can softmod your xbox to mod the 9 new maps only , you won't be able to mod the old maps, with softmods you can still gon on xbox live but will get banned if you want i can help you softmod just send me a message
