Yes of course the katana, especially the ancient ones forged by the masters. They would fold a thousand paper thin layers of steel one on top of the other. They were made perfect for the perfect slice, as opposed to many other swords designed that are better off for just cutting. But who knows these things.

one million- there have been different designs and shapes for the "katana" or "samurai sword". you probably did no longer answer your own question. 2- Ninja swords on no account traditionally existed. the closest element is the straght bladed katana standard because of the fact the "choku-to". 3- there are various styles of scimitars, rapiers and longswords and shortswords (gladius is a short sword). it fairly is not any longer an journey recreation the place swords are lumped into categories that are known. 4- i for my section want a single surpassed longsword. Oakenshott type 12. I want a disc pommel so which you would be able to comprehend which way the flat is by way of grip, yet devoid of the further prongs of a fishtail pommel. i like that it remains a slicing blade yet has reliable thrusting means. I want single surpassed as that's less difficult to practice many capability technology type concepts I even have found out in unarmed to a single surpassed blade extremely than a double grip longsword which that's tougher to visualise the similarity. bear in mind that still on regular a single surpassed type 12 is often longer than a katana bladewise- even however on first look by way of longer hilt it may desire to no longer look so. i do in comparison to katanas because of the fact of thier decreased function for thrusting in assessment to a thrusting blade, or the curve can't be utilized like a deep curve saber to get around a shield. i've got faith that they seem to be a "hybrid" that don't do the two as properly as a straght or deeper curved blade.

I prefer either the long sword or the bastard sword. Nothing like brute force with control. Actually, I like most swords for their historical value.
