Unfortunately, the only thing that might help is time. You can speak to a therapist to help, but time is what really helps. I heard a man get shot and saw another one get shot. I walked around the corner and saw the first man (the one I heard get shot) dead. I called 911, but they were busy. I called the police and they were already on the way. I finally called my in-laws (which I love to death) and asked them to come. I was crying the whole time. This happened withing 20 feet of my back door where I was living. I saw one man running away and he was carrying a gun. I have my 1 month old baby in my arms when I saw all this. To this day, when I hear fireworks or loud bangs of any sort, I still get shaky and have flashbacks. I don't know exactly what happened, but I will NEVER forget what happened. It has gotten easier since then. That happened over 2 years ago. Time truely heals all. Try talking to someone who loves who and hopefully you will start to get the help you need to move on.
PS- Maybe this has happened before with the police and the man and that is why they (the police) took such aggresive action. If not the man getting shot, maybe he would have killed the girlfriend? Just a thought.

I think thre is no way to take that out of ur mind, u should just believe there are bad people in the world that make horrible mistakes. Dont take it so hard i know its hard but the world is full of people like that and you just have to remember he gave up his life for new ones to begin, im so sorry u had to see that, i hope u will be ok. THis is something that only you can release from ur mind and do it with love. good luck.

You may never get that picture out of your mind sadly enough. But according to where you live you may be able to talk to someone professionally. If you can't afford it, check around and see if there is a service to help witness's get help dealing with things they have, there may be a free support group of other people in your area that have gone through a similar situation.

Talk to a psychologist first if you can. They'll give you the least psychobable because they work off of statistics. Otherwise just know that the image will probably be with you forever. It's a memory and memories of great or horrible events often die hard. Talk with family and friends about it.

I am not going to dispute your story, like others, just give you an answer. Talk to family or friends about it. You may not get this out of your head, but if you talk to a psychologist (of if you cant afford one), a priest then you may be able to deal with it better.

forget about the first anwer you got, that person is really stupid, its hard to tell you what you can do to get those images out of your head, they will go away, i saw my friends daughter get hit by a car some years ago and she died, she was 3, i saw that image for years, it finally subsided, it will for you too
