why are people bashing sex offender if they don't have claim to suport it by saying sex offender have higher % of reoffending while
I can prove that they really don't the link from the GOVERMENT show that less then 1 % do reoffend.
* Within 3 years following their release, 5.3% of sex offenders (men who had committed rape or sexual assault) were rearrested for another sex crime.
Compared to non-sex offenders released from State prisons, released sex offenders were 4 times more likely to be rearrested for a sex crime. (this does NOT mean sex offender reoffended it is a comparing from bank robber are less likely to do a sex crime then a sex offender will and it still less then 1%)

People bash sex offenders because they are too lazy to learn the truth. By the way, the one that says he is a cop and is in or has gone to college, they forgot to teach you how to spell and sentence structure. So how in the world could anyone think you know enough to believe you?
FACT is that sex offenders have the lowest recidivism rate of ALL crimes with the exception of murderers. You don't know if your neighbor is a murderer do you?
Your child has a higher chance of being harmed by a drunk driver, drug user/dealer, gang related activity, playground accident, drowning, parental neglect and struck by lightening than the chances of them being molested by a registered sex offender.

Because sex offenders leave living victims in most cases, and if there is no therapy for both the offender and victim there is likely to be a repeat of the crime. There are also studies that show that if the victim of the assault is a child there is a higher chance that the victim will become an abuser in the future. Also sex crimes are more of a compulsion crime and unlike robbery and other crimes they come from impulses in the brain and are more of a risk than the bank robber or shoplifter. If a child is abused by an adult they can grow up with with similar impulses and repeat the offense.A child who sees physical abuse is more likely to grow up to physically abuse a spouse or child than one who didn't witness abuse as a child. Its all part of learned behaviors that become ingrained in the mind and they are hard to relearn. If a sex offender is acting on learned behavior than he is a threat just like a person who physically abuses a spouse or a child is,only society doesn't recognize the connection yet and needs to before things get worse.Maybe have tougher sentences for physical abusers and take note of the connection to learned behavior to help the next generation before more damage is done.

I think the reason people are more worried about sex offenders is that people cannot relate to their crime. Everyone can understand the mindset of a bank robber (I'm not saying everyone would rob a bank, but you can understand why someone would try) but most people cannot identify with a pedophile or a rapist, so it is assumed that there is 'something wrong' psychologically with these offenders. Also, these are crimes that violate on the most personal level, so they cause the greatest amount of fear and anxiety amongst the populace.

well I am here to tell those number are skewed. The number of recidivist in Sex offenders is muhc higher than that, alot of the repeat offenders go un-reported. You have to remember. Rape and Sex offenses are the most under reported crime in the US today. After working in Law enforcement for over 9 yrs now, I have seen a trend where more and more cases are going un reported and the victims wait until it is to late to report it, but thankfully the suspect/perpetrator can usually be caught once it happens. Don't believe everything you see reported by the Goverment, they get there numbers from the Unifored Crime Reports. Thes are nunmber that are submitted by Law enforcement from around the Country, but bear in mind, once again that it is very under reported crime to begin with.....I am not for bashing them. If they served their time and continue to get help to fight the urge to commit agin, then good for them, but we a a society have the responsibility to keep the ever watchful eye on them, and let the Police check them when ever they deem fit. This is to make sure they are not in violation of the initial charges levied against them for the type of offense....You would do better to check different state statistics....not all are alike....

Okay, I think you are saying that offenders released from prison, after serving time for crimes other than sex crimes, are more likely than sex offenders, to committ sex crimes. "Okay - What world are you living in?" What proof do you have to back this up? And, does it really matter? If you are convicted of a sex crime you are more likely to repeat the crime over and over again, more so than a person with a drug addiction robbing a bank, a wife killing an abusive husband, and an drunk committing vehicular homicide. Face the facts.

Because sex offenses are the ones that stir people up the most Some of the laws regarding them need revision for example consensual sex between a 16 yr old and an 18 year old is one same with consensual sex bet wen minors these laws are way of base but as for the child molesters the laws do not even begin to punish them as hard as they should these types should never again see the light of day

Sex offenders are the most twisted, sick people out there.....especially if they hurt children.
To say our statements are "worthless" unless backed up by some link is senseless!!
It is known that sex offenders are sick and many times they commit another sexual related crime or worse.
Someone who is a sex crime offender has a "sickness" and it can not be "cured" unlike someone who commits other petty crimes. A bank robber can and will stop after maybe one crime, but a sex offender keeps getting their "fix" no matter how many times they have done it in the past and no matter how many times they are caught!

Have you noticed how many released sex offenders offend again then kill their victims not wanting to get caught re offending my guess is you are a sex offender like most sex offenders trying to blame society and use statistics to look like a victim

So your question is : Why are people bashing sex offenders?
Gee...I wonder why? When was the last time you were raped or molested? Hmmm...I'm guessing never. Sex offenders are very likely to repeat. if I find a registered one next to me...I will not harass him for it. He has served his time. But I will move. I don't want to find out if he is a repeater...and more than likely, he will be.

Because it is a very sick crime, and there is still the possibility (even if it is not that high of one) that it can happen again. why in the world would you EVER want to be around someone who has committed such a horrible crime?
