I have a couple of inexpensive pullman cases with synthetic canvas or fabric coverings, and they are not visibly dirty but smell stale. Clothes that traveled in them would probably pick up the smell. Has anyone out there got a method for cleaning and freshening luggage?

Wipe them out with a rag dampened with baking soda water. Spray them with a fabric freshener (like PetFresh or Febreze). I finde these sprays are amazing. Leave the cases open for a couple days and repeat the spray a few times, make sure they are dry before you close them up again.

usually putting an odor absorbing item in there helps like baking soda or baby powder. once you do that you can either put cedar chips or regular air fresheners (like car air fresheners) in there and it'll keep the suitcase smelling better.

Leave them open in the sun for a couple of days and when you store them put in an opened box of baking powder
