difficult one..for sure NOT the bible, i would like something big enough to cover days and days, interesting and fun so that it wont give me a worse mood! i am stuck on an island, imagine reading sad things! it would probably be les miserables by hugo. not exactly fun stuff but really huge and the best book i ve ever read..

The obvious answer would be the Bible. If that book was not available I would want a single volume encyclopedia, especially one that featured many articles on practical matters such as making fires, hunting and fishing, building structures, and making flares or using smoke signals for contacting those far away ships and air planes on the horizon!

Hmmmm hard question. It would have to be a book full of short stories, especially ones filled with irony...such as an Alfred Hitchcock collection.

Not counting Scripture, I'd go with Augustine's Confessions, second choice Plato's Republic. After that it would have to be Dostoyevski, Shakespeare, or Tolkien.

Candide by Voltaire. I could read that book a hundred times.
Can I have paper and pen? I'll write a few while I'm there.
