I waited 6 months myself because I had a long period of postpartum bleeding and where I had torn the stitches were well healed but still hurt. my son slept through the night pretty fast so I didn't have that problem and at 6 months some days he was still having 2 naps a day plus sleeping through the night. There is no reason, if your doctor cleared you, not to start having sex again if you feel up to it. As for your daughter's sleeping habits and your wanting to have sex not being in sync, welcome to motherhood. Honestly you just have to get your daughter in a routine, this is not only so you can manage your time during the day for whatever activities you want to do, but babies and children generally thrive on routines. Our son is a lot happier if he has breakfast and plays in the morning, medication time, has lunch, has a nap in the afternoon, then supper or snack depending on what time it is, play more after supper, medication time, bath, bottle, story then bed. And usually he doesn't watch any tv after lunch. In bed most nights by 8pm and sleeps right through unless he gets disturbed. He is 20 months old now, but has been on a similar routine for a while now. Abviously it was adjusted by age but routines in general are great for kids of all ages. Structure works.

Nope, you're out of luck until she leaves for college... just kidding.
Seriously, though, the trick isn't making her sleep when you want her to, it's getting what you want when SHE decides to sleep. If that means a quickie during the 10:00 nap on Saturday, that's when you do it. Also, don't worry if she's not asleep- just make sure she's clean, fed, and relaxed... put her in her bassinet or crib with some toys, and have at it. Having sex with a baby around is like playing hockey in the street (remember Wayne's World?)- you play for a while then pause for a minute, and then it's GAME ON! again.
Maintain your sense of humor, remain flexible, and you'll get the hang of it in no time.

You could of had sex when she was 6 weeks old because that how long they say to wait. Did you try to put her to sleep at the same time every night or have a rotuine that you do every night? My daughter is 41/2 months old and every night she is in bed by 10 because we have a routine that we do every night. If that does not work why not just get some one to watch her for a night or two.

You could have been having sex for about 4 months now. After my boys were born I was told to wait about 6-8 weeks. So go for it girl. Have fun. But remember that you will be more fertile now so if you don't want another baby right now use protection.

Your doctor should have given you the okay by now, unless s/he is the type who doesn't say it unless asked. I would think you should be fine, but check with your doctor, just in case. A quick phone call should do it. Some offices have an advice nurse who can answer those questions.

Yes you can. My doctor told me to wait 4 wks and completely healed before having sex. She also said not to wait too long to otherwise your sex drive will be down and its harder to fix then.

when you get ur 6 week checkup the doctor should tell you weather or not you can have sex. if all ur placenta is out then sure but if not i wouldnt do it b/c ur placenta could go into ur ovaries and could damage the eggs.
