I died (honest) recently in a dream, and someone took my hand (don't know who). I wasn't afraid just curious.

Then I woke up and thought hah! So much for old wives tales that if you die in your dreams you are dead - or am I kidding myself - is this the after-life?

I had a dream I was shot. After being shot, I saw the famous "white light" and then woke up... Still remember it vividly since, like you said, you always hear if you die in a dream you die for real... Not sure what it means, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one!

I haven't. I mean I have been close. But I always wake up right before. I don't think you really died in your dream. If so how did you know someone took your hand? Had to be your spirit watching over you. But you weren't fully dead yet. I do believe in that old wives tale. Sleep is the cousin of death.

I always come close but...lets say I'm falling, I wake up literally a second before I hit the ground. Never actually or at least as far as I know/can remember died and saw myself died in my dream.

If this was the after-life, I would be happy, rich and at an amusement park with my kids!

Make the most of your life and have a good day!

It was I who took your hand. It is all right now. We walked out of that long white tunnel into the light. I have had some strange dreams, but none where I have died. How do you know you died? I have had dreams where I was falling(I know, a common dream) and falling, but I never landed. Dreams where I was about to die, but the end never came. If you did experience death in your dream, you are probably one of the few who have.

Heck... in my opinion, dreams are based on your daily thoughts. If you were thinking that day that someone will kill you or just thinking about dying, then it affected your nightdreams (or rather NIGHTMARE!!!). However, I hadn't had any dreams where I actually died... just when I was something like seven, I had dreams where I was running away from bandits and killers and I'm pretty sure that it was because I was watching an action movie that night with my parents. Anyway, don't worry about it too much... just don't think about death and being killed, that's all.

But if you really worry about it much... I suggest you go to a therapist and tell him about that dream and about what's on your mind. Hope for the best!!!

No, this ain't the after life. I died in my dream one time and then (in the dream) "woke up" just fine. It kinda sounds like you had an astral visit where you're soul leaves your body and goes to the other side for a visit. That is if you believe in that sort of thing.

I've died in a dream and it was only blackness, no feeling whatsoever.
And if the old wives tale is true, then there really is a hell and I'm there now.

Yes, I have died in my dreams before, more than once. So I think it is an old wives' tale.

I've died a few times in my dream. I drowd once, got shot another time, and stab another? In all my dreams I found someone I loved then died. Kinda weird, haha. So to answer your question yeah, i've died in my dreams before. And this isn't the after-life hun. =]
