You're probably depressed and buying gives you that very short moment of feeling better. But it just makes things worse. You need to replace this compulsion with another activity... but something healthy! :-) Honestly, think about taking a moonlighting job. Something that you would do just for fun, without too much responsibility (working at a movie theater or ice cream store). This way you will i) fill up your time so you can't be out shopping, ii) make money to help pay down your debt, iii) AND you'll likely meet someone new who you can share your love with (but do wait at least one year after the divorce before starting to date... it truly takes that long to heal and feel normal again).

No it is not a "condition", that's a cop out. It is not being a mature adult and taking responsibility for your finances, that is it.
You need to make a list of your debts, then another list of your income. If your debts outweigh your income, you are overspending, plain and simple. So, the answer is to spend only what you CAN, not what you WANT.
What do you mean you don't "make enough money"...for what? If you have a job, and making money you need to learn to live off of what you make, not think money will magically appear in your checking account.
Get real. Get busy. If you really can't figure it out, there is always debt counseling. Be sure you get a reputable place, some are not so hot.
Get Suze Orman's books regarding wealth, money, investing. She also has a website and is the best. She speaks of money management in simple, easy to follow terms. I highly suggest you invest time at the library looking at them.

There is probably some type of financial counseling in your area. It is a condition, there are people that make less than 20000 a year doing fine financially and people making 500000 a year that are broke all the time. Hopefully there is a good prigram available in your area. Some of them can be free, others cost money. See if you can find a free one first.

If you are in trouble with credit cards then go to financial center who handles this and puts you on a budget. Being compulsive about buying also needs therapy, you can get help, try and find it free. There are outfits who do this.

I think there are actually places like for shopaholics. Try googling it,and seeing what you come up with. In the meantime, cut up your credit cards ,so as not to have any more temptation until you get caught up,then, don't use them anymore. I don't have one for this reason, only use a debit card, that way you know how much you can reasonably spend
