personally to me its because its almost like your wearing the same underwear as a female. && it isn't masculine and manish..you have something us females dont...meaning you need better underwear than that. && that isnt cute at all

The stereotype believes that homosexual men care more for physical appearance than heterosexual men. Those articles of clothing augment physical features. Since the clothing points fo physical beauty, and physical beauty is more strongly correlated with homosexual men in observers' minds, people think "guys that wear thongs/g-strings and short shorts (athletic) are gay".

well, my guy wears thongs and i like 'em, i think they make his package look bigger. however, i do happen to think very short shorts look gay on a man.
