YES.....please please please remove the pad and learn to wear a tampon. Please. It is not life threatening to you, but could be pretty nasty for other people that find the pad after it has escaped.

Being a girl I also experience the monthly. However, using a pad to swim is not the greatest idea. It's not life threatening, but the only thing is it gets wet like swimming in a diaper and what's the purpose? Blood will continuously drip until it's over, but not as much. For some reason, when your body gets wet, the blood seems to hold until you dry. If you are really heavy with you monthly, swimming in the beach could possibly be dangerous. Remember, sharks can smell blood off a distance. Use a tampon or don't swim while your on.

I don't think it is life threatening to wear a pad while swimming, but your pad may fall apart while your in the water. Whenever I have my period and go swimming, I don't wear anything. I just go in the pool and be done with that. Then when I am done, I get a shower and put a fresh pad on.

But everyone is different. Good luck to you!

I will ask you the a question can you swim in a pool if you know that some girls having menstruation are swiming in ? I think it is not a good social behaviour first you pollute the water.
Second you may develop Toxic shock syndrom it is a disease caused by wearing tampons contaminated with a microbe called staph which secretes a toxin which causes nausea , vomiting, hypotension and shock
Third your blood may have some viruses that escape low level of chlorine in the pools and infect others.
Others may also have some viruses that come across the vagina to your endometrium which has exposed blood vessels and you get infected
so, dear it is not good for you and the others

If your going to swim in the pool you should try using a tampon because pads get all wet and you might feel like a baby again with a pamper and it's not life threatening but use a tampon you can save your self embrassment if a really cute guy comes along

It would not be life threatening.......nor would the pad be effective. The pad would absorb a bunch of water, no longer have room to absorb the body fluids it is suppose to absorb AND I think it will swell so large that people will notice it.

Try it out with one of your pads........put one in the sink and fill up the sink. How much does it swell? Even if it doesn't get huge....it still won't have room for your body fluids......and I am guessing whatever body fluids are there will get water logged and leak as you walk.

I don't think pads and swimming go together.

You have to wear only tampons. pads will just absorb the water and not work for your period and you will get totally embarrassed when you come out of the water and your pad is not there or worse if your in a pool and the water aroung u turns pink because you have no protection and your bleeding all in the water

1. Depending on your flow - I personally wouldn't want to get into the pool while you wear a pad that could turn the water red.

2. Its unsanitary for you to go swimming while wearing a pad.

3. Don't believe me - put a used pad in the sink full of water - see what happens. Do YOU want to swim in that.

Neither do the rest of us. Common Sense Please!

Why would it be life threatening??next time you want to have fun at the beach or a pool party. were a tampon i know that doesn't stop me from having a fun time at the pool. My point is does your pad feel like a diaper???you should switch.....

the pad will poof up and absorb all of the water it can so u will get blood in the water- if u r at the beach u can attract SHARKS!! they can smell blood from miles and miles away
and there are many nasty chemicals in the water that could get into your vagina since its open (to let the blood out)
WEAR A TAMPON- thats basically what they where made for- or you could wait until ur period was over 2 go swimming

In the olden days we were not allowed to swim at all during that time. Now I would think it a bit nasty to swim with a pad.
