No easy way. You have to cut down the high side level with the low side. Use the sand only to smooth out the floor. Otherwise the sand will compact and the pool will go out of level. Then you get to have this fun all over again!

Pound in 4 or more, stakes outside and around the area you have laid out.
Get 2 pieces of clear see thru garden type hose, about 12 inches each add your garden hose screw on connectors - put them on the ends of your garden hose. Fill the hose completely with water.
Now on Stake # ! - Hold or tie up the clear end of the hose to the stake and mark the water level on the #1 stake while some one goes to stake 2 and marks it, then stake 3 and 4. All the while the one end of the hose never leaves stake #1
It does not matter where the mark is on stake 1 - it just matters that all 4 stakes have the exact same level.
Now measure down the amount of inches to the ground minus the inches of sand..
Say your mark on stake#1 is 21 inches above the ground and you want 3 inches of sand.
Just measure down 18 inches on ALL 4 Stakes and it will b level

Go buy a "line level", $6.00 (it's about two inches long with a glass bubble like a regular conractors level and a hook thingie at each end)
A roll of constuction string $4.00 (100 feet of nylon string usualy yellow in color)
Six wooden stakes (maybe a couple more)
Stake out the perimiter of the pool location
Tie one end of the string to one stake, perpendicular to that stake, wrap the roll of string around the other stake, set your line level in the center. Raise and lower the string one end untill you get the string level.
Move the dirt, sand, what ever soil you're using untill it is the same distance from the string all the way across.
etc. etc. etc.

As said before, there is no easy way. I have the same pool and found it's trial and error moving around after the error part. Learned the best way is to have a couple of kids walk around in it as you fill it to make it level.

Rent a laser level from a rental store and use a rod with the laser finder to determine if everything is level.
Or you could level it out from the center with a 4 foot level and working out.

the above is a good answer, but I would also suggest a compactor to go along with the level, otherwise the sand will shift.
